18th century bench planes are extremely rare. Many moulding planes survived but bench planes were used until there was nothing left but fire wood. 8 inches long. Good+ condition. 2 1/4” P. LAW iron. Right cheek has some blowout. John Sleeper b. 1754 was in the Battle of Bunker Hill. He worked in Newburyport, Mass and was one of the most prolific 18th century plane makers. I. Sleeper was a Newburyport, MA plane maker circa 1780-92.
