On the smaller side at 8 1/4 inches long, including the extensions. Original 1 3/4 inch BUCK BROS iron. I don't recall seeing another dovetailed NYC plane. They were usually cast iron. The plane has a few marks on the sides and a microscopic fracture line emanating rearward from the mouth. Almost invisible. Otherwise the plane is fine and quite lovely. Lauritz BRANDT (1808-1887) was working in NYC as early as 1842 and was known to have made planes 1850-59.
