This brace, patented by GEO. HEARD is marked as being made by the E.S. BRACE COMPANY. It is also marked with the patent date of January 3, 1905. The patent was entitled “Knock-down Bit Stock”. The brace appears to have never been used and is in its original wooden box. It breaks into 5 pieces. Three of the connections use a thumb screw and the fourth, at the chuck, uses a lever operated cam.
