Fine and flawless. Razor tight mouth. 10 3/4 inches long. Original Howarth iron with a rare Spiers mark on the sneck. Stewart Spiers (b. 1820-d. 1899) perhaps the finest plane maker that ever existed. His planes were not only the best in quality of construction but also aesthetically pleasing. The Spiers firm operated from 1840-1936.
