This brace is signed BOWER SHEFFIELD. There are very few known examples of plated Braces with rotating handles. One is the 1854 registered design of PARKER & THOMPSON. The design of the rotating handle is very similar to that of the Sims brace and some Pilkington Braces, all of which have some type of connection.
