With his classic ornately decorated tote and silver inlays, one of the rarest and most beautiful planes ever produced. William Epperson, a four-star maker. is known to have made planes from 1858 to 1859, and in 1879 and 1890. But this plane is dated 1855. He is known to have made three fancy rosewood plows and one filletster. This is THE filletster. The plane has some scratches where the blade contacted the fence and the face of the wedge finial has been sheared and tacked back on. The plane could quickly and easily be restored to mint.
