A fine example with no pitting and most of its original japanning. It has the type 2 triple knurled 2 piece screws, which are as crisp as the day they were made. The rosewood handle has 2 rivets. Stanley quickly changed to a single rivet because the 2 rivet design split 100% of the handles. This handle is no exception, but the split is nice and tight and no big deal. The plane has nearly all of its original japanning inside the D handle and at least half of the japanning on the top curve of the plane.
